ESPO
ESPO is short for Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean. The ESPO oil pipeline is 4,188km long and exports crude oil from Russia to the Asian Pacific markets of Japan, China and Korea. It was built by the Russian company Transneft in two segments. It starts from Taishet and ends at Kozmino, via Kazachinskoe, Skovorodino and Perevoznaya. In 2009, the first phase of the pipeline was completed and the second phase was completed in December 2012. Three more oil pumping stations were added to the system in December 2014. This increased the oil pumping capacity of the stations built under the first phase to 58 million tons a year.
